Accelerated Collegiate Experience

Admission Criteria



Effective Fall 2018


  • Completion of a minimum of 4 semesters of high school (student should not have completed sufficient units to qualify for high school graduation, and must apply all credits earned to meeting high school graduation requirements and University criteria for degree completion).
  • Demonstrated exceptional ability as substantiated by a recommendation from the high school.
  • Completed ACE online application and associated forms by the published deadline.
  • Approval of parent or guardian.
  • A minimum 3.7 weighted high school grade point average AND a minimum 3.0 unweighted high school grade point average.
  • Test scores as outlined below.
  • Approval of the Director of the Accelerated Collegiate Experience and the ACE Admission Review Committee. 
Composite score: 23 or above AND
English score: 20 or above
Reading score: 20 or above
Math score: 20 or above
 SAT (taken March 2016 and after)
Composite score (Evidence-based Reading and Writing combined):  1140 or above AND
Evidence-based Reading and Writing:  500 or above
Math score: 500 or above
Math Test: 24 or above
Writing and Language Test: 25 or above
Reading Test: 24 or above  


Students must be eligible under an Accelerated Credit Contractual Agreement between FGCU and the student's current institution.  Students enrolled in public high schools in Charlotte, Lee, Collier, Hendry or Glades counties are covered by current agreements. Home-schooled, students attending charter schools and students attending private schools in Charlotte, Lee, Collier, Hendry or Glades counties should contact the FGCU Undergraduate Admission Office or the ACE Office to ascertain whether an agreement exists or to initiate a new agreement.  The parent of a home-schooled student will be required to be under an Accelerated Credit Contractual Agreement with FGCU.
