The CAA offers free small group peer tutoring by appointment for select subjects at FGCU.  The goal of tutoring is not to get students to the right answer, but to help them develop the skills necessary to understand the concepts behind the problems.

What tutors can help with in a session

The FGCU Academic Policy prohibits tutors from assisting students in the completion of homework or any graded material.

  • Complete your homework/assignments in advance of the tutoring session and bring your questions.
  • Do not use tutoring time to complete your homework.
  • Do not ask tutors to assist you with completing graded work/homework.

Tutors can review concepts, formulas and processes on similar problems/situations to assist you in understanding. You can then complete or correct your errors after you leave the session.

The purpose and goal of the CAA tutoring program is to assist students in becoming more independent learners through higher order thinking processes.

Questions about logging in? Read the steps above, under "in order to log log into the appointment sytem...", then contact Gail Mishler at 239-745-4407.
