Patrick Neal holds the position of assistant principal violin with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra.  He has studied music at Yale University and the Eastman School of music.  Mr. Neal has also earned a Bachelor’s degree in cognitive science and a Master’s degree in the cognitive psychology of music.  He has performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Buffalo Philharmonic, the New Haven Symphony, and as concertmaster, the Greater Buffalo Opera Company. As a chamber musician, Mr. Neal has studied with members of the Juilliard, Tokyo and Vermeer quartets.  He has spent summers at the Tanglewood Music center, the Bowdoin Music Festival and the Kneisel Hall chamber music festival.  While pursuing a fellowship with the New World Symphony, Mr. Neal served in the concertmaster rotation and was a winner in the New World concerto competition.  Mr. Neal has performed as a soloist with the Buffalo Philharmonic, the Amherst Symphony, The Clarence Symphony, the Ars Nova Musicians and the New World Symphony.  Recently, his summers have been spent performing chamber music and orchestral repertoire at the Breckenridge Music Institute and the Grand Teton Music Festival.
