Friends of the Arts (FOTA) works to enrich and inspire the lives of the citizens of our community by supporting the arts through annual contributions to the Bower School of Music & the Arts (BSM&A).
The Friends of the Arts' main mission is to raise funds to supplement the arts and academic programs. Contributions to the FOTA support the activities of over 400 art, music and theatre majors, 24 full-time faculty and 30 adjunct artist faculty, as well as student music ensembles, guest artists, student and visiting art exhibitions, dance performances, plays and musicals. The BSM&A offers approximately 150 arts events each year.
The Friends of the Arts brings awareness to the Bower School of Music & the Arts and raises funds for scholarships and educational enhancements within the School. Through this support, students have access to visiting artists and scholars and gain hands-on experience. In addition, faculty members are afforded the ability to enrich their careers through academic and artistic workshops and research.
FOTA works to enrich and inspire the lives of all the citizens of our community by supporting the arts. We feel it is important to support performances of artistic excellence to the community; offering education in multiple artistic disciplines, including music, art, theater, and dance in order to influence the larger context of garnering support for the arts. FOTA will help FGCU become a cultural destination for the Southwest Florida community.
