I am a Life-span Developmental Psychologist with a focus on adulthood and aging. I joined the Psychology Department at FGCU in the fall of 2009. Before arriving at FGCU, I was an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Troy University. I completed my M.A. and Ph.D. in Life-span Developmental Psychology at West Virginia University. My research examines how social contexts relate to daily activities and functional ability throughout adulthood. I have also conducted research examining age and demographic differences among homeless adults. I am currently working on several projects related to aging attitudes and age-related attribution biases when evaluating errors that people commit while performing daily activities. I also conduct pedagogical research examining how developmental service learning relates to a variety of outcomes. I regularly collaborate with students in research, so if you are interested in being involved with my research or if you have an idea about a study you would like to pursue, contact me about being in my directed study.

Courses Taught: Principles of Development, Psychology of Adulthood and Aging, Developmental Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Senior Seminar, General Psychology, and Directed Study.
