Vision: Inspire  ♦  Create  ♦  Perform            Changing Lives Through the Power of the Arts.

VISION IN ACTION

Michael Rohrbacher (Music) & Suzanne Rohrbacher (adjunct Music) presented a continuing education course for practicing music therapists entitled "The Application of Mediating Conditions for Persons with Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders" earlier this year, at the American Music Therapy Association Southeast Regional Conference in Chapel Hill, NC.

Dan Bacalzo (Theatre) served as dramaturg for Ron Pullins' new play, Ice’s Crossing, presented by the Wichita, Kansas-based theatre company, Guinea Pig Lab. On May 5, he moderated a discussion with the playwright, director, and cast members.

Trent Brown (Music) finished the season leading the Symphonic Chorale of Southwest Florida in a concert that premiered two new works for chorus and orchestra.  The first piece, "Spoon River Anthology" was a triptych written by Tim McDonnell.  "Creatures of Earth" was a three-movement work by Zachary Moore who joined the Chorale for a residency and the world premiere.

Greg Longenhagen (Theatre) and Gerritt VanderMeer (Theatre) both participated in Florida Repertory Theatre’s annual PlayLab Festival at the end of April.

The Wind Orchestra performed at Carnegie Hall on November 27, 2015.

Patricia Fay (Art) traveled with art students to the Portland, Oregon for the annual conference of the National Council on Education for the Ceramics Arts. At the conference, Jordan Blankenship ('17, Art) and Felipe Maldonado (’16, Art) delivered a presentation and discussion session titled Mini-Heat 2: Accessible Atmospheres, and detailed the transformation of a decommissioned electric kiln into a flexible outdoor kiln that can be fired with propane gas and wood.

Judy Evans (Music) has been working in the Collier County Public Schools as the Orchestra Director; in Pinellas County, setting up a pre-kindergarten violin program; and in Hillesborough County doing a teacher/student workshop.

Anne Carncross (Theatre) recently designed the lights for TheatreZone of Naples’ production of Legs Diamond.
