The post-baccalaureate Teacher Credential Certificate program is designed for students with baccalaureate degrees in fields other than education, and who seek to meet the licensure/certification requirements for a Florida Educator's Certificate.  Individuals completing the program meet all of the coursework requirements specified on a Florida Statement of Eligibility for educator certification.  Teaching practicum and Florida Teacher Certification Exam requirements are not addressed in the program, and must be completed prior to applying for a Professional Educator's Certificate from the Florida Department of Education.

Program Admission Requirements
  1. Submission of a FGCU Post-Baccalaureate Non-Degree Application to the Office of Graduate Admissions prior to the established deadline.
  2. Graduation from a baccalaureate-level program from an accredited college or university documented by official transcripts.
  3. A grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the last 60 semester hours attempted accruing to the undergraduate degree.
  4. International applicants from countries where English is not the official language, are required to submit official English proficiency scores:  TOEFL exam (minimum score of 550 paper-based, 213 computer-based, or 79 internet based) or IELTS exam (minimum score of 6.5).
Progression and Additional Graduation Requirements

Students must satisfactorily complete the minimum number of credit hours specified by the certificate program.
A grade of B or higher must be earned in all College of Education courses.
A cumulative GPA of 3.0 for all coursework in the program.
