William L. Berndt, Ph.D. earned a doctorate in Botany and Plant Pathology from the College of Natural Science at Michigan State University. Prior to that he earned a master's degree in Crop and Soil Sciences from MSU, as well as a certificate in Turfgrass Management. Dr. Berndt is currently President of a private company called Environmental Turf, Inc. as well as President and Senior Consulting Agronomist for William Berndt Associates, an international management consulting firm. He is a designated Certified Professional Agronomist and Certified Crop Advisor as sanctioned by the American Society of Agronomy.
Over his career Dr. Berndt has authored over 50 publications including eleven peer-reviewed journal articles related to turfgrass managment. His most current publication is a book chapter entitled "Organic Matter Dynamics in Turfgrass Management Systems," which is slated for publication in 2012. He has taught ORH 2220 Turfgrass Management Operations since 2008 and has been instructing FGCU-PGM students in various turfgrass management classes since 2005.
