Jim Cook retired from Ernst & Young in 2012. Throughout his career, Jim served some of the firm’s largest clients and fulfilled senior leadership roles within the firm. Jim’s responsibilities were focused in the manufacturing, consumer products and automotive sectors, and he also held significant recruiting, people development and training responsibilities. His boardroom experience includes more than 200 audit committee and board meetings. Jim traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and Latin America for many years.
Jim holds a B.S. degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign), and is a recipient of the College of Business Alumni Service Award. He is a past chair of the Dean’s Council, past president of the Business Alumni Association, and past board member of the University Alumni Association. Jim has raised several million dollars to support the College, and occasionally delivers graduate-level lectures in the Accountancy program.
Jim has served on the boards of several Chicago-based charitable and non-profit organizations, and most recently has been appointed to Greater Naples Leadership and the Business Advisory Council of Florida Gulf Coast University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
