Dr. Tomasino’s research is in Information Systems (IS) and IT-enabled inter-organizational collaborations. He is using Complexity Theory and Fuzzy-set Analytics for the study of IS and the emergence of unanticipated IS characteristics undermining managers' ability to predict and manage IS outcomes. His research addresses the complexity of IS arising from the inter-relationship, interaction, and interconnectivity of the elements in the IS and its environment. He has a number of publications in leading journals and conferences including Management Information Systems Quarterly-Executive, The Database for Advances in Information Systems, Government Information Quarterly, The International Journal of Information Systems and Management, the International Conference on Information Systems, the Americas Conference on Information Systems and the International Conference on Complex Systems. He has worked as a technology consultant investigating future information technology for the military and for many years as a consultant in the semiconductor industry. He was the founder and Vice President of Engineering for one of the industry’s highest growth design services companies and held various management positions at prominent semiconductor companies.
