Mission Statement: The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB) serves the broader interests of the economy of Lee County by acting as an industry leader to market the entire area globally, facilitate travel to the area, and preserve and protect the area's unique attributes for the continual benefit of its residents and the travel and tourism industry.

Service-Learning area:The VCB Visitor Services department provides superior customer service through visitor interaction at five Visitor Information Booths at the Southwest Florida International Airport and via community projects.
Job Description: Provide operational support to volunteer Tourism Ambassadors at five visitor information booths, as well as VCB staff, of the Visitor Services department. Provide customer service outreach to traveling public and visitors. Assist the VCB in industry special events as needed.

Additional Information: Students will interact with large numbers of tourists and travelers at the VCB Visitor Information Booths located in the Southwest Florida International Airport in order to provide customer service and traveler support. Students will learn in areas such as how to work with many styles and types of people, volunteer supervision techniques, how tourism is promoted and marketed throughout the area, and general airport operations. Students will be encouraged to provide input to staff to maximize operational efficiency and service opportunities available to community. Minimum 40 hour commitment requirement.
