The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is searching for volunteers and interns who have an interest in environmental conservation and the natural sciences. Employees of the DEP have the singular honor of working to protect Florida's natural environment on a daily basis. Their duties are diverse, and directly affect a variety of disciplines and industries. Volunteers and interns will work closely with DEP staff to complete duties in various program areas, ensuring public compliance with laws and regulations and educating members of the public about the environment. The DEP' South District has offices in Fort Myers, Sebring, and Marathon. Environmental regulatory programs include: Air Resource Management, State Submerged Lands and Environmental Resources Program, Waste Management, Water Facilities, and Environmental Assessment and Restoration.

Job Description:

Will be provided on request via email. personal Interview with a Job Supervisor in area of student's interest.
