||Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is owned and operated by the National Audubon Society, whose mission is to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds and other wildlife, for the benefit of humanity and the earth's biological diversity. Corkscrew Swamp is a 13,000-acre sanctuary, located primarily in Collier County with a small portion in Lee County. It encompasses a variety of native habitats, including an ancient bald cypress forest.
||One-day volunteer events are often available, as are a variety of recurring opportunities for one or multiple students. Contact Volunteer and Membership Coordinator Steve Parker at 239-348-1260 to discuss volunteer opportunities, which include exotic plant removal, scientific monitoring, data entry, events, maintenance, trail trimming & sweeping, and guest relations.
