Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center
The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center (formerly Deaf Service Center) of Southwest Florida, Inc. was founded in 1983. Our mission statement demonstrates a clear commitment to the residents of Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, Glades and DeSoto counties: “To empower Southwest Florida’s deaf and hard of hearing citizens and their families through education, advocacy, and community involvement.” We are the only organization of its kind and scope in Southwest Florida – specifically working with the deaf and hard of hearing communities.
||Volunteer tasks at DHHC are limited, irregular, and usually office related: filing, data entry, preparing brochures and hand-outs. A list of interested volunteers is kept for special events and fundraisers for which we need more help.
