Bonita Springs Assistance Office

Bonita Springs Assistance Office has been providing a hand up, not a hand out, to the residents of Bonita Springs since 1979. We serve as the primary social service agency in the area when someone is need of emergency food assistance or financial assistance due to an unexpected situation. By extending the hand of support we enable clients to retain their dignity and recognize their own capacity of looking for solutions to their situation.

We foster independence, responsibility and determination. We particularly focus on assisting families with young children and seniors.

We are proud partners of United Way of Lee County and work in coordination with other agencies that provide more services that can help to enhance the lives of residents of Bonita Springs.

Job Description:

Working with a programs coordinator to assess needs of clients, identify needs and structure a plan of action. Decision making based on information (facts).

Participate in community events from planning to execution to evaluation of successes and challenges.

Customer service in a social service field; particularly under stressful situations.

Volunteer during pantry days and/or "Green Fridays>" Students must volunteer a minimum of 6 hours with staff during pantry days. (Mon. & Wed. )

Additional Information:

We ecourage students to have contact with clients to have a better understanding of the socio-economic challenges in our community. We also spend time with the student to learn about their expectations and requirements for the class; in order to adapt or match a project that can provide the most suitable learning experience.
