Lovers Key State Park

Details: This 1,616-acre state park between Fort Myers Beach and Bonita Beach is comprised of four barrier islandsó Lovers Key, Inner Key, Black Island and Long Key. The park offers 2.5 miles of white sandy beaches on the Gulf of Mexico and a variety of recreational opportunities, including wildlife viewing, fishing,kayaking and swimming. The park also provides 5 miles of hiking and biking trails.
Job Description: Opportunities may include: removal or treatment of invasive exotic plants, planting of native vegetation, assisting with maintenance of park facilities, as well as maintenance of trails throughout the park. Start time is 8am sharp and only available during weekdays.

Benefits Offered: Experience with the Florida Park Service. Training and experience in resource management as well as experience working in a park/outdoor environment.
Additional Information: Work is mostly outdoors in sometimes hot, wet, muddy, and buggy conditions. Work may be physically demanding. Volunteers must wear closed toed shoes. Hat, long pants, work gloves, sunscreen, insect repellent and plenty of water are highly reccommended.
