Details: With a mission to facilitate and nurture the creation, development, promotion and education of the art of classical ballet, Gulfshore Ballet strives to promote cultural learning experiences in dance education through community involvement, daily classes and annual performances that reach the widest possible audience. As southwest Florida’s premier not for profit school of classical ballet, Gulfshore Ballet works to provide area youth and adult students with high caliber instruction.
Job Description: Marketing/Promotion: Assist Director of school with creating press releases, evites, flyers, and other similar promotional materials. Videotape rehearsal sessions and create promotional DVD. Research opportunities for budget conscious advertising in the local community. Assist with Facebook and Twitter, keeping our pages lively and current. Some ballet knowledge and/or knowledge of the school is necessary.

Grant Writing: Assist Director of school with local and state grant writing, assist with seeking additional grant/funding opportunities, utilize creative writing skills to assist with writing grants.

Fundraising: Assist with planning and organizing fundraisers.

Performances: Assist staff before and during performances, duties include selling concession items, will-call ticket station, ushering, installing/tearing down floor, (some heavy lifting).

Stage crew/production volunteer/intern: Videotaping of performances and community events, organization of props for upcoming productions. Shifts available. Scenic design and painting of backdrops.

Community Events/Media Table: Attend community events to inform about Gulfshore Ballet, set up, man and clean up table. Shifts available

Classical pianist: work directly with instructors to provide live accompaniment to classes. Hours: Monday-Friday evenings, Saturday morning at studio

Studio Upkeep: Wipe down studio mirrors, ballet barres, organizing dressing room/lost and found, emptying trash Hours: Monday and Thursday 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM at studio 2155 Andrea Lane C5-6 Ft Myers, FL 33912

Costume Inventory: Assist staff with organizing costumes, creating and maintaining student sign out list, assembling costume items, headpieces and accessories, basic sewing. Scrapbook Archiving: Create studio scrapbook with photos, etc. and display board Hours: flexible, can be done from home.
