Official transcripts from EVERY college or university attended is required, regardless of transfer credit granted.

*DO NOT request your FGCU transcript! The Office of Research & Graduate Studies will access this on your behalf.

  • Electronic transcripts are accepted and considered official when received directly from your institution. Electronic transcripts should be sent to

  • A certified English translation must accompany all academic documents if English is not the original language. A copy of your Diploma or Degree Certificate is also required. FGCU reserves the right to request a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) company. (WES, World Education Services is recommended).

Entrance Exams

Almost all graduate programs will require some type of entrance exam for admissions into their program. Check your program requirements before committing to preparations. The following entrance exams are accepted at FGCU.

  • GRE – Graduate Record Examination

    • Study guides are available through ETS, at local libraries, in bookstores and other online.
    • FGCU’s School Code for Physical Therapy applicants (PTCAS) = 7693
    • FGCU's School Code for Physician Assistant applicants (CASPA) = 2066
    • FGCU's School Code for All Other applicants = 5300


  • GMAT – Graduate Management Admissions Test

Current FGCU students can access FREE entrance exam study materials through an FGCU library database. The subscription is to the Testing & Education Reference Center database. Students can take a practice GRE test and access a 2014 edition of Master the GRE. Many other practice tests and study guides are available on this database. Access it by clicking on “databases” from the library homepage.

English Proficiency

Applicants must demonstrate English Proficiency in accordance with University policy and will be required to submit acceptable TOEFL scores unless the country of origin uses English as the official language. With the approval of the Dean of Graduate Studies (or designee) and the appropriate college dean, applicants may furnish satisfactory evidence of English competency in lieu of the TOEFL.

The English Language Institute offers TOEFL preparation and instruction of English as a second language. For more information, please visit the English Language Institute website or call 305-348-2222.

Applicants demonstrate English proficiency in one of the following ways:

  • TOEFL – Test of English as a Foreign Language. More information is available at FGCU’s School Code for all applicants is 5125. Minimum Scores: iBT = 79; cBT = 213; pBT = 550


  • IELTS – International English Language Testing System. More information is available at Minimum Scores = 6.5



  • Completion of English Composition I and II (ENC 1101 and ENC 1102 or equivalent) with a grade of C or higher and/or minimum of 60 credits satisfactorily completed at an accredited institution of higher education in the United States.

International Students Supplemental

In addition to the regular application materials, all international students must submit the following:

  • Proof of degree/diploma if from a non-U.S. institution


  • Certified translation of transcript and degree/diploma if in language other than English (see "Transcripts" for additional information)


  • FGCU reserves the right to request a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) company. (WES, World Education Services is recommended).


  • Visa Clearance Form if currently enrolled at a U.S. institution under a student visa


  • Financial Statement – Bank & Sponsor letter

If you answered “YES” to Academic or Legal violation, you will need to complete and submit the Admission Clearance Conduct Reporting Form and submit all supporting documentation to the Office of Student Conduct.
