Graduate Students

Individuals who have earned a bachelor's degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent foreign institution and plan to pursue a master's or doctorate degree.

Full time status – enrollment in 9 or more credit hours

Part time status – enrollment in fewer than 9 credit hours

  1. Apply to Grad School: Check the application deadline and admission term for your selected program
    • Submit the Graduate Application and $30 application fee
    • Submit supplemental materials, including Official test scores, and Official transcripts. Email to Grad_docs@fgcu.edu. Electronic submission should be in PDF format. Please reference your full name as listed on your application and UIN in subject line. Mail to: FGCU Office of Research & Graduate Studies; 10501 FGCU Blvd S; Fort Myers, FL 33965-6565
    • DPT and MPAS applicants submit their documents (including test scores and transcripts) through the PTCAS or CASPA ONLY.
  2. Check Your Application Status: Check the status of your application materials by email (graduate@fgcu.edu) or phone (239-590-7988). Please reference your UIN and full name as listed on your application.
    • Find your UIN (or FGCU ID) by logging into your Application and checking your profile.
    • Please allow 24-48 hours for emailed documents to be processed.
    • Please allow 10 business days for mailed documents to be processed.
  3. Confirm Residency for Tuition Purposes: Every incoming graduate student in the state of Florida must establish his or her status as a Florida Resident or Non-Florida Resident for tuition purposes.
    • Email your completed residency form and supporting documentation in PDF format to grad_docs@fgcu.edu. Please reference your UIN and full name as listed on your application in the subject line.
    • Only Admitted students will have their residency documents reviewed
    • Additional information, including residency classification form and acceptable documents, is available on the Residency page.
  4. Submit Immunization Records: All incoming graduate students are required to submit their immunization information to Student Health Services before class registration can occur. For detailed information, including requirements, processing time, and submission details, please visit the Student Health Services website.

Certificate Students

Graduate certification and continuing education experiences are offered for the purposes of enhancing the knowledge or skills, often for career development or acquisition of professional credentials. Individuals who have earned a bachelor's degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent foreign institution and plan to pursue a FGCU certificate program or take courses to maintain their certification may do so as a post-baccalaureate non-degree status.

  1. Apply to Grad School: Check the application deadline and admission term for your selected program
    • Submit the Graduate Application and $30 application fee
    • Submit supplemental materials, including Official test scores, and Official transcripts. Email to Grad_docs@fgcu.edu. Electronic submission should be in PDF format. Post-baccalaureate Non-degree Students

Individuals who have earned a bachelor's degree and wish to enroll in credit courses may do so as post-baccalaureate non-degree status. Students are limited to 9 hours of graduate coursework. Students may apply as a post-baccalaureate non-degree status while seeking admissions into a graduate program. Non-degree students may be required to obtain permission to register for classes. Please contact the professor or program office for your selected course(s) directly.

  1. Apply to Grad School:
    • Submit the Graduate Application and $30 application fee

International Students

International students must refer to the International Student Graduate Admissions Guide for application guidelines. International students may not enroll as non-degree seeking students due to federal regulations. Additional information is available at the International Students webpage and the Office of International Services website.

Senior Citizen 60+ Audit Students

Distance Learning Students

Prospective students residing in the following states (Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, and Wisconsin) who wish to pursue a graduate degree or certificate program entirely online within their state of residence may submit an application according to university procedures.

All other out-of-state students (those from any state not listed above) interested in pursuing an online degree/certificate program entirely from within their state of residency may not be eligible to apply (due to their home state's law) and are invited to consult their state's higher education licensing authority to discuss their situation.
