How to Apply for FGCU Faculty-Led Study Abroad (FLSA) Programs
Step 1: Choose your program, See list of programs for 2017 below
Step 2: Register yourself with FGCU Horizons (fgcu-horizons.symplicity.com/?)
Step 3: Apply for your chosen program, submitting your application materials as indicated by Horizons. Follow instructions regarding additional requirements and processes.
Step 4: Pay initial installment by the program's deadline date
Step 5: Attend all pre-departure orientations scheduled for your program
Step 6: Have a great time studying abroad!
STEP 1 Learn about Provider Study Abroad programs by attending a General Study Abroad Information Session, schedule an appointment with the Asst. Director Study Abroad in the Intl Services Office. The more students are able to focus on what country, region and city they want to study abroad in, the easier it is to find the right program provider.
STEP 2 Register yourself with FGCU Horizons so that FGCU International Services can guide you through the process.
STEP 3 Apply online for your chosen program once you are registered with FGCU Horizons. The majority of the application process is handled directly with your chosen program provider. Please contact our International Services Departments with issues or questions with your program provider application.
STEP 4 Obtain Signature from Study Abroad Coordinator on the Course Pre-Approval Form. In the process of submitting your application materials on the FGCU Horizons application, you will need to make an appointment to meet with the FGCU Study Abroad Assistant Director for a signature on your Study Abroad Course Pre-approval Form. Appointments can be made in person in the International Services Office (Reed 122) or by calling 239-590-7925 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. This form must also be signed and submitted to the International Services Office, or by email to email@example.com
STEP 5 Obtain Signature from Academic Advisor on Course Pre-Approval Form. In the process of submitting your application materials on the FGCU Horizons application, you will need to make an appointment to meet with your Academic Advisor for a signature on your Study Abroad Course Pre-approval Form.
STEP 6 Apply to your Provider Program by the Provider Program's deadline and follow their instructions.
STEP 7 Attend an FGCU Pre-departure Orientation. You will receive an invitation for this orientation when your FGCU application is received
STEP 8 Study Abroad!
STEP 9 Verify with your Provider Program that your transcripts are sent to the FGCU Registrar's Office for articulation for courses on transcripts from institutions that are regionally accredited. Please refer to the Course Pre-Approval form for instructions on receiving transfer credit for courses on transcripts from institutions that are not regionally accredited.

STEP 2 Apply for your program by the application date.
