Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How many students can fit in your teaching theaters?
A: The amount of students who can fit in our teaching theaters depends on the grade level. Generally, 55-60 small children  (grades Pre K-3) can fit comfortably in our teaching theater. Approximately 50 secondary students can be seated in our teaching theaters. If you have a group of students larger than this, we would gladly accommodate you for two or more days.

Q: Do you offer any free programs to schools?
A: The Kleist Health Education Center is committed to making our programs affordable to all schools. In addition to low admission costs, we are also constantly striving to find grants that provide funding for health education programs at schools. For the 2012-2013 school years, we are pleased to offer our “What if Bullies Grow Here?” outreach program free of cost to fourth graders in the Lee County School District. This has been made possible through a grant from the Southwest Florida Community Foundation and the Foundation for Lee County Schools. If you are interested in booking this program, call us at (239) 590-7459.

Q: What if my school cannot afford to come to the center?
A: If your school cannot afford to come to our center, there are many options that you have to make it possible. You may be able to ask your PTO if they have funds available to sponsor your educational field trip. You can also encourage people to donate to our “Sponsor A Bus” program and designate your school as the recipient. You may also seek funding for a field trip to Kleist Health Education Center through Donors Choose. Additionally, the Kleist Health Education Center is willing to explore partnering with your school in order to pursue grants. Please contact us if you are considering this!

Q: Do you have facilities for our students to eat lunch?
A: We have several eating areas where your students can enjoy lunch. Our center has picnic tables outside of our building. On rainy days, our atrium can serve as a lunch area for students.

Q: Can I book more than one program in the same day?
A: The Kleist Health Education would gladly welcome your students for a full day of programs!

Q: I am not affiliated with a school. Am I able to book a program for my home school group?
A: Yes, you can! The Kleist Health Education Center welcomes youth organizations, summer camps, day cares, etc. to book a program. Additionally, if your child is home schooled, they are able to attend scheduled programs with another school. Please call us at (239) 590-7459 to make arrangements!
