Fort Myers -- it's not New York City, but there are resources for the LGBT community here! There are many local area businesses, services, clubs, and places of worship which are gay-owned, operated, and/or open and affirming places for LGBTIQ individuals.




Mental and Behavioral Health Issues and Support:

Meeting at St. John the Apostle Metropolitan Community Church (MCC), 3049 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers. Call (239) 344-0012 for directions.

-- Lambda Drummers - Gay AA meets at 8 p.m. Call 239-275-5111 for AA information.

-- HIV and Hepatitis testing/HEP A&B vaccines. Free, provided by Lee County Health Dept. - First and third Tuesday of each month starting at 9:00 a.m. No appointment necessary. Health Dept: (239) 656-2542.

-- Rainbow Group - Gay NA (addictions): 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays

-- Trans Life Group - discussion group for trans people; meets third Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

-- Serenity by the Sea - NA, gay-friendly. Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.

Gay and Lesbian Al Anon - 7 p.m. Thursday at Alliance for the Arts in the Edwards Building at McGregor Blvd and Colonial Blvd., Ft. Myers.

Gay Women Support Group - Monday evenings 7:30 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. For women who have a need to work through personal issues and relationships. Contact Rev. Jarie P. Smith at (239) 565-7324 for times and locations. Rev. Smith is also available for 1:1 spiritual counseling for LGBT people.
