*New for 2018: All Step Ahead students receive the Step Ahead Scholarship during the summer 2018 term, which is equivalent to six (6) credits' worth of tuition and fees (at the in-state rate).

Students must complete the 2017-2018 FAFSA to receive the Step Ahead Scholarship.

All Step Ahead Program participants are encouraged to apply for financial aid.  Students may apply for several types of scholarships, however students are strongly encouraged to apply for financial aid available through the FAFSA and FGCU Foundation Scholarships as early as possible. Your High School Counselor may be a resource when applying for scholarship as well as the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships.

To be eligible for federal student financial aid, students must completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year. Step Ahead students will need to complete two applications in order to apply for both their first summer and fall term. To qualify for Summer aid, students must complete the 2017-2018 FAFSA. To qualify for aid for the 2018-19 academic year, students must complete the 2018-2019 FAFSA. Because funding is limited, we encourage students to apply by the priority deadlines listed below.  Please note that some forms of aid may require students to take additional coursework during the summer term to be eligible.
