The Florida Teacher Certification Examinations, or FTCE, are a set of tests developed with the purpose of certifying that all teacher candidates demonstrate the necessary content and pedagogical knowledge to effectively educate students in the State of Florida.
The Florida Educational Leadership Examination, or FELE, is a test developed to ensure that all school administrator candidates demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively lead in Florida’s schools.
The Office of Postsecondary Assessment at the Florida Department of Education is responsible for all aspects of the FTCE and FELE, including developing, administering, scoring, and reporting the results.
The Department develops and administers the FTCE and FELE examinations in partnership with its contractor, Pearson. Beginning in October 2007, Pearson assumed responsibility for the FTCE/FELE test administration, scoring, and reporting activities.
You may find more information about these tests, including scoring and reporting at the FTCE/FELE Facts webpage.
Here you may find resources available for every test in the FTCE/FELE program.
All FTCE and/or FELE registrations must be completed online at www.fl.nesinc.com.
If you are an FGCU undergraduate Education major, you must request your scores be sent to Florida Gulf Coast University during the registration process.
If you have questions regarding teacher certification, please contact the College of Education Office.
