University of Michigan’s Depression Center.  This site offers tools for screening to see if you might suffer with depression and resources to help manage your moods and other symptoms.

Eating Disorders

This site contains info on eating disorders, programs available , how to get involved in helping, advocacy, research, and links to other related issues.

FGCU Campus Suicide Prevention Project

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline’s mission is to provide immediate assistance to individuals in suicidal crisis by connecting them to the nearest available suicide prevention and mental health service provider through a toll-free telephone number: 1-800-273-TALK (8255). It is the only national suicide prevention and intervention telephone resource funded by the Federal Government.

This nonprofit public charity is committed to reducing youth suicide and improving the mental health safety net. This site provides info regarding suicide prevention to parents and students and connects to various college counseling centers.

This site is part of the jedfoundation work with suicide prevention and support. The link will allow you to visit the counseling centers of various universities that are a part of the jedfoundation work and obtain information on drug abuse, behavioral problems, as well as link to a mental health library.

Information and Services for Veterans

This site is the webpage for the Miles of Smiles Foundation.  Miles Ranch, located in North Fort Myers, offers Equine Assisted Therapy and Equine Assisted Learning to veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.  The services are offered for freeto veterans.

The FGCU Office of the Registrar provides information and assistance to veterans.

American Counseling Association site containing articles on various topics dealing with mental health, access to publications, and info on finding a counselor. FAQ about counseling as well as crisis info, and multicultural issues are addressed.
