Portrait of Dean Pegnetter Unveiled at Lutgert Hall

In a ceremony attended by Faculty and Staff on October 15, 2008, a portrait of Dean Pegnetter was unveiled in the atrium of Lutgert Hall.

Also in attendance were the portrait painter, Greg Biolchini, and Renate Reuter, who is president of The Portrait and Figure Painters Society of Southwest Florida (PFPS). Ms. Reuter assisted the College in selecting and commissioning Mr. Biolchini to do the portrait.

Mr. Biolchini has been a highly sought-after local portrait painter since 1972. His portrait commissions have included Barbara B. Mann for the Performing Arts Hall that bears her name, and portraits of the founders and presidents of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He was recently voted Visual Artist of the Year by the Angels for the Angels for the Arts, Lee County Alliance for the Arts.

Ms. Reuter, in addition to her PFPS position, is a professional fine visual artist and has received several awards for her own paintings. Her goal with PFPS is to provide scholarships and recognition for local art students in fie fine visual arts of portraits and figures in various media and styles.

Dr. Howard Finch welcomed the group and introduced the guests, then Dr. Lee Duffus presented a tribute to Dean Pegnetter, outlining the accomplishments of the Dean's stewardship at the Lutgert College of Business.
