Keiana Desmore

Keiana Desmore serves as an Academic Advisor in the College of Education at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). As an Academic Advisor, she enjoys providing guidance and helping students accomplish their dreams of becoming degreed professionals.

Her major duties and responsibilities include:

  • Academic advising for undergraduate students guiding them toward completing the  COE admissions criteria, adhering to university policies and ultimately graduating on time,
  • Assisting with the ongoing development and implementation of academic advising procedures, and student recruitment and retention initiatives,
  • Interacting and collaborating with teaching faculty, advisors, and administrators throughout the university, and  
  • Participating in several committees.

Ms. Desmore has been an academic advisor in the College of Education at FGCU since January 2009, but has worked in various other roles at FGCU since April of 2005. She is a southwest Florida native and feels passionate about “giving back” to her community.

Ms. Desmore earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Miami, and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from FGCU.  Currently, she is studying toward completing an Ed.D doctoral degree in Educational Leadership.
