Admission to Candidacy occurs during five key periods throughout the year:
COE orientation meetings are held each semester so students can receive a candidacy application and understand the requirements for applying to the College of Education. It is highly recommended that students attend one of these meetings.
Candidacy Requirements for admission to the College of Education are as follows:
Students who do not meet the requirements described above will not be admitted into the programs in the College of Education. We recommend that all students be admitted into the College of Education by the completion of sixty hours.
In order to develop your degree plan of study and organize your sequence of courses over the next two years, it is highly encouraged that you meet with a College of Education Academic Advisor prior to applying for your degree major. Please stop by the Office of Student Services on the second floor of Merwin Hall to request an appointment with an advisor as soon as possible to discuss course selection and application and admission to the programs in the College of Education.
In addition to working closely with your COE academic advisor, Degree Works will also assist you in planning your progression through the program. We encourage you to use Degree Works as a tool to help you successfully complete your degree program.
