Health Insurance Information

Notice to students

Student Health Services takes the FGCU student insurance plan only, which is sponsored through Arthur J. Gallagher & Company. Please click the following link for updated information regarding this plan: Arthur J. Gallagher & Company - United Health Care Insurance.

All visits to Student Health Services, regardless of insurance coverage, are free. Some medications, labs and supplies are provided at nominal prices. Students need to bring some form of payment to each appointment to cover the possibility of a charge.

If you want to know more about the Affordable Care Act, including questions about Open Enrollment and the Healthcare Marketplace; please see the Federal Government's Healthcare Marketplace. See also information regarding the Special Enrollment Period and Qualifying Life Event. If you are under 26, you may be able to stay on your parent's health insurance plan until your 26th birthday.

Please note: All FGCU students have the option to purchase dental insurance. Refer to the plan above.

Billing Information

Check-out Information Not all visits incur charges; however, if your provider recommends Labs or Medications, there will be charges that are incurred at very nominal rates. Any charge(s) incurred at Student Health Services must be paid for at the time of service in the form of Cash, Check, Credit Card or Eagle I.D. Dollars. Please ensure that you bring a form of payment for your visit.

No-Show Fee Effective July 1, 2014: Students who incur a charge of $25.00 can pay directly at Student Health Services. This will allow them to avoid the financial hold from the Bursar's office. Students are granted 1 business week from time of charge to pay; failure to complete payment at Student Health will result in the charge being transferred to their FGCU account.
