FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University School of Nursing is accepting applications now through June 1 for Master of Science in nursing program in Primary Health Care for fall 2001 admission and the Perioperative Nursing (Nurse Anesthesia) program through November 1 for admission in fall 2002.

The Master of Science in nursing program prepares advanced practice nurses for career opportunities in a variety of evolving global health care environments. Students choose a focal area of study in Primary Health Care (PHC) or Perioperative Nursing (NA).

The PHC focal area prepares graduates to actively identify and manage health care needs of clients and to forge unique health care partnerships. This focal area requires 40 credit hours and can be completed in four semesters of full-time study or part-time equivalent. Specialty areas within PHC include NURSE EDUCATOR and NURSE PRACTITIONER.

The NA focal area prepares graduates for the full scope of Nurse Anesthesia practice. This 54 credit hour, 27-month full-time program is offered through an innovative partnership between FGCU, Norman R. Wolford School of Nurse Anesthesia, Naples Community Hospital Health Care System, and Collier Anesthesia, P.A.
