"The Resilient Leader" Workshop

FORT MYERS, FL - Managers, supervisors and staff from the public and nonprofit sectors are invited to attend a half-day course “The Resilient Leader” presented by the Florida Institute of Government at Florida Gulf Coast University as part of the its Supervisory Certificate Series from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday, March 14. The workshop will be at the Center for Professional Development at Edison Community College.

The course will explore how leaders have to be able to deal with change, stress and keep both work and life in balance if they are to achieve their goals.

Geri McArdle is instructor for the program. She is director of doctoral programs at Barry University and has extensive experience in designing and delivering training programs. She has worked for both the public and private sector and is currently a consultant and owner of her own business, Training Systems Institute. McArdle earned her doctorate degree from Syracuse University and participated in a leadership exchange program at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. She has published several publications in the areas of instructional design, analysis and training delivery.

The central purpose of the Institute is to help promote superior performance in government and nonprofit organizations through quality training, consulting and technical assistance. As an accredited comprehensive public university, FGCU addresses the higher educational needs of Southwest Florida and provides a learning-centered environment that offers high quality educational opportunities, such as administratively hosting the Institute.
