"Executive Leadership Development Series for Nonprofits" Six-Month Workshop Offered by FGCU Florida Institute of Government

FORT MYERS, FL - Directors and managers from the nonprofit sector are invited to attend a six-month workshop “Executive Leadership Development Series for Nonprofits” presented by the Florida Institute of Government at Florida Gulf Coast University as part of its Not For Profit Series from 8:30 a.m. to noon on consecutive Fridays beginning Oct. 18 at the Alliance of the Arts.

The Series is a hands-on exploration of the policy-level perspective required of executive directors and will provide the opportunity for individuals to prepare themselves and their organizations for continued growth and success. Series attendance is required for each half-day session until culmination on March 14, 2003.

Learning modules include:

     Leadership and Management Essentials

     Effective Communication and Listening Skills

     Personnel Management Issues

     Essentials of Budget and Finance

     Successful Fundraising and Marketing

     Managing Your Board

The workshop is co-sponsored by the FGCU Florida Institute of Government, Southwest Florida Community Foundation and United Way of Lee County.

The central purpose of the Institute is to help promote superior performance in government and nonprofit organizations through quality training, consulting and technical assistance.

As an accredited comprehensive public university, FGCU addresses the higher educational needs of Southwest Florida and provides a learning-centered environment that offers high quality educational opportunities for the general public, such as administratively hosting the Institute.
