American Advertising Federation Awards Honor Society Membership to Four FGCU Students
FORT MYERS, FL - Four Florida Gulf Coast University seniors were recently awarded membership in the Alpha Delta Sigma Honorary Society of the American Advertising Federation to recognize superior scholastic performance as students of advertising.
"These four students have performed outstandingly and deserve the status that AAF honor society brings to their careers," associate professor of advertising Ludmilla Wells said.
To be nominated, students must attain senior classification at their respective college or university, have a minimum 3.26 grade point average overall and within their major, and be dues-paying members of the AAF.
FGCU students meeting the requirements are:
· Deborah A. Connor, marketing senior from Fort Myers
· Joseph X. Hemrick, marketing senior from Naples
· William C. Jares, communication senior from Naples
· Caitlin R. McGarry, communication senior from Estero
The AAF is a 50,000-member organization. The Academic Division guides programs for 210 college chapters, including 6,400 students and 350 professors. According to the AAF, it is "the unifying voice of advertising. With headquarters in Washington and a Western region office in San Francisco, AAF is the advertising trade association that represents the ad industry in its entirety. AAF's 130 corporate members are advertisers, agencies and media companies that comprise the nation's leading brands and corporations."
