FGCU Club Hockey Hosts Tailgate Parties During 2005-2006 Season

Club hockey at Florida Gulf Coast University invites the public to join fans, faculty, staff and players at four tailgate parties this season at the Coastal Village Apartments clubhouse to celebrate the Eagles' fourth season in Germain Arena.

The fun begins with a four-hour party 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8 before the University of Georgia game.

Three other tailgating events are Saturday, Dec. 3 before the Colorado Buffaloes game, Saturday, Jan. 14 during the Compuware Gulf Coast Clash, and Friday, March 3 during the ACHA Division-III National Championships.

FGCU club hockey and Coastal Village Apartments, 19401 Skidmore Way off Three Oaks Parkway, are partnering to provide free food catered by Beef O'Brady's, music, games, hourly giveaways and raffles for local businesses such as Stoney's Sports Café, Beef O'Brady's and tanning salons.

The tailgate parties "provide a fun and safe environment for fans to get pumped for the hockey games," director of marketing and sponsorship for FGCU club hockey Libby Fero said.

FGCU Club Hockey Invites Public to Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

Club hockey at Florida Gulf Coast University invites the public to an all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatball dinner fundraiser 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Stoney's Sports Café to help show support and eat well too.

Tickets are $10 and include spaghetti dinner, salad, roll and beverage. During the event, guests can win raffles and participate in hourly giveaways of hockey merchandise and local vendor gift certificates. Players and staff will be on hand to meet and greet fans.

"This is a great opportunity to interact with the local community as well as our student fan base," faculty advisor Craig Rademacher said. "It will be an entertaining evening for everyone."

During the event, patrons are invited to visit the FGCU club hockey table featuring team memorabilia such as player photos from the last three seasons and other hockey paraphernalia.

FGCU Club Hockey Seeks Local Fan Sponsorships

Club hockey at Florida Gulf Coast University invites local fans to become an individual sponsor for only $20 for 2005-2006. Sponsors receive five tickets to any regular season game, a team guide and inclusion on the Individual Sponsors page of the team guide. The rate is a reduction from the previous $50 individual sponsor rate.
