FGCU Lutgert College of Business Invites Media to 11th Annual W. Thomas Howard Lecture

FORT MYERS, FL - The Florida Gulf Coast University Lutgert College of Business invites the media to the 11th W. Thomas Howard Lecture reception at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1 at Grandezza Golf and Country Club, 11481 Grande Oak Boulevard in Estero. The media is invited to meet the keynote speaker at 5:30 p.m. in the Media Room at the Grandezza. The lecture begins at 6:45 p.m. The event is not open to the public.

Keynote speaker is David C. Beard, a nationally-known activist on business ethics and human resources affiliated with the Josephson Institute of Ethics based in Los Angeles, Calif.

This year's lecture titled "Ethics at Work.At Work" focuses on business ethics, a topic that affects virtually every aspect of everyone's personal and professional life.

Beard recently retired as the director of Ethics and Employee Relations at the Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems Sector, headquartered in Southern California (a Fortune 100 defense contractor).

In his 25 year industry career, Beard has spent nearly half that time as the Ethics program director responsible for the design, development and implementation of a "values-based" ethics program impacting over 15,000 employees located at multiple nationwide sites.

Beard has also conducted ethics workshops, presentations and keynote addresses to numerous executive level businesses, government, and military, as well as academic audiences.

The family of the late Tommy and Mary Frances Howard generously continues to support this lecture series. This year's lecture is given in honor of Tommy and Mary Frances Howard.
