FORT MYERS, FL - The Small Business Development Center at Florida Gulf Coast University is offering a free seminar, "Making Your Small Business Green - Benefits and Checklist," designed for business owners who want to incorporate sustainability into the work environment, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 27 at the FGCU Lutgert College of Business. Lunch is included and registration is required.

Topics include defining the differences between "going green" and sustainability in business, how sustainability in business is changing the marketplace, and identifying some of the influencing factors.

Participants will acquire a better understanding of the opportunities and benefits associated with incorporating sustainability in business. A checklist and tips for "going green" will be included in the learning materials.

The seminar is sponsored by Office Depot, which encourages small steps toward greener offices around the world. The seminar also features guest speakers Heidi von Korff of SustainableCivil; Casey Neurock of NeuGreen, and Dell Jones of Regenesis Power.

Founding principal of SustainableCivil, von Korff has a master's degree in Civil Engineering from Vanderbilt University and is a registered LEED Accredited Professional.
