FGCU Small Business Development Center and Bank of America Host Free Business Resource Day

FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Bank of America collaborate to provide a free Small Business Resource Day for Southwest Florida small business owners, Friday, April 1, at the Microtel, located at 1320 Business Way, Lehigh Acres. The event kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast provided by McDonald's in Lehigh Acres. The program starts promptly at 9 a.m.

Free breakfast and lunch will be provided, along with experts to teach several business topics such as building your brand, loans, business planning and business continuity. Attendees can also pick up free business resource information from area agencies such as Florida Department of Financial Services, SCORE- Lee County, Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce and others.

Florida SBDC Network's Mobile Business Assistance Centers (MAC) Bus will be on hand to provide free tours. The 38-foot mobile RV is equipped to be deployed immediately after a natural or man-made disaster. The MAC was designed to provide disaster assistance to small businesses during post-hurricane situations and for rural clients who need assistance and either do not have an SBDC location near them or are unable to travel to a Florida SBDC location.

Dan Regelski, director of the SBDC at FGCU said, "Offering these types of programs encourages business owners to learn what is available to them in the business community, especially those with limited access to resources. We rely on partners such as Bank of America to help us provide these types of educational programs, which benefit businesses in the community."

"At Bank of America, we understand that small business success is critical to economic recovery," said Gerri Moll, president, Bank of America for Lee and Collier Counties. "We are pleased to support the Small Business Development Center at FGCU in their efforts to assist businesses in Lee County."

Registration is limited and can be made on line at or by calling the main office at (239)745-3700.
